Sophisticated Aircraft Are Well Designed
for Surveillance, Support, and Training

Working closely with air forces around the world, Embraer has developed advanced aircraft that provide excellent performance at a reasonable cost. Embraer is increasing its ability to serve defense customers through its strategic alliance with Aerospatiale-Matra, Dassault Aviation, Snecma, and Thomson-CSF. This important new relationship will also help Embraer achieve its targets in this rapidly evolving market.

A Variety of Surveillance Programs
Embraer has designed highly sophisticated aircraft to meet specific air, ground, and maritime surveillance needs. Embraer offers the EMB 145 AEW&C equipped with ERIEYE, the advanced mission system from Sweden’s Ericsson Microwave Systems, as well as the EMB 145 MP (Maritime Patrol), and the EMB 145 RS (Remote Sensing), which have customized electronics suites. For example, the EMB 145 RS, which marked its first flight in 1999, has state-of-the-art monitoring systems with a belly-mounted antenna. The Hellenic Air Force is purchasing four EMB 145 AEW&C aircraft.

With their low acquisition and operating costs, Embraer’s surveillance aircraft are also suitable for airspace management, electronic surveillance, search and rescue coordination, and other missions.
